En Pie de Paz

Our debut.

"Two or three copies of our not-too-official songs -those that Gabriel and I recorded very badly in my room, and are being recited (and hopefully hummed) by people in places that we never dared to imagine. Those songs, I have been told, carry in them the candor and fertility of a young age, pre-pubescent, and unaccustomed to the callus of the stage. It is not strange then, that we decided to take the reins, knowing of our foolishness and scholars of our limitations, and we've spread our entrails in these twelve songs.

The result, though modest, is worthy of our findings. These songs are committed to being the essence of where, how and who we are. With the sanctity of the home recording and the noise of clean technology, "En pie de paz", is one of our biggest leaps to touch with our fingertips the maturity of what was in the beginning, a very improvised project.

Perhaps the album's main happy accident are the tones that are indigenous to us, and that we were surprised to possess. Without planning it, congas, bongoes, tumbaos and choirs were born and they must answer to our very essence, or at least, they have been very well learned. So, we were victims and witnesses of an exploration that started by itself, but that ended with a bit more of us.

Then, "En pie de paz" grows, blooms, and fruits, and we hope, will become songs in your ears."
